Arsenal faced a tough challenge against Nottingham Forest but emerged victorious in their Premier League debut with a 2-1 win at the Emirates Stadium.
The goals were impressive, with Edward Nketiah finding the net in the 26th minute and Bukayo Saka following suit in the 32nd minute.
Nketiah’s strike came from the center of the area, beating former Arsenal player Matt Turner in goal, thanks to a fantastic setup by Gabriel Martinelli.
The breakthrough came after Brennan Johnson narrowly missed an opportunity to put Nottingham Forest ahead, with Aaron Ramsdale denying him in the 11th minute.
Saka’s goal was even more spectacular – a skillful shot with the inside of his left foot that had Gunners fans on their feet.
Despite Nottingham Forest’s efforts, including Taiwo Awoniyi’s goal in the 81st minute, they couldn’t level the score.
Mikel Arteta’s team will now face Crystal Palace in an away match in their next Premier League fixture.
