Arsenal has once again expressed interest in signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad. They also have their eyes on Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni, according to The Mirror.
Earlier this year, Arsenal’s attempt to secure Zubimendi with a £53 million bid was unsuccessful. The 24-year-old Spanish midfielder has a £53 million (€60 million) release clause in his contract with Real Sociedad, attracting attention from top clubs.
Zubimendi, who has been capped twice for Spain, was reluctant to leave Real Sociedad last year when Arsenal first showed interest. One of his main motivations for staying at the club was to represent them in the Champions League this season.
Real Sociedad has had an impressive start in the Champions League this season, securing draws against last year’s finalists, Inter, and away victories at RB Salzburg and Benfica. Zubimendi played every minute in all three matches, adding to his appeal.
