According to Sky Sport Italia, Chelsea is now more receptive to discussing a possible exchange between Romelu Lukaku and Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.
Several months ago, Chelsea had been offered this exchange but had insisted on receiving at least €40 million in cash instead.
However, the situation has changed since then, particularly due to the breakdown of talks with Inter and Lukaku’s ongoing refusal to engage in discussions with emissaries from Saudi Arabia.
Juve coach Max Allegri is keen on having Lukaku lead the team’s attack this season. It is no secret that Allegri and Vlahovic don’t have a particularly good relationship.
Vlahovic is becoming increasingly frustrated with Allegri’s negative tactical approach, while the club is bothered by Vlahovic’s persistent fitness issues.
If this exchange were to happen, Chelsea would likely need to offer Lukaku along with a significant amount of cash, as Vlahovic is valued at a minimum of €75-80 million.
This valuation is based on the fact that Juve paid €81.6 million, along with bonuses, to acquire the 23-year-old from Fiorentina in January 2022.
