Fenerbahçe has officially submitted a bid for Manchester United midfielder Fred, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
The 30-year-old has been strongly linked with a departure from Old Trafford as Erik ten Hag paves the way for Fiorentina‘s Sofyan Amrabat.
Fred is among the players who might leave the club, along with midfield partner Scott McTominay and former captain Harry Maguire.
On Thursday, Romano tweeted, “Fenerbahçe has formally proposed an offer to Manchester United for Fred, as confirmed by sources from both clubs.
“The offer is understood to be valued at a total package of €15 million, inclusive of add-ons.
“Negotiations are currently in progress on the sides of both the club and the player. Fenerbahçe is working to finalize this significant signing swiftly.”
After last month’s FA Cup final, Fred admitted that he might have played his final match for the club. He stated, “I still don’t know. I need to have discussions with my family.”
He further added, “I still have one more year remaining on my contract here. It’s now holiday time, providing a good opportunity to rest. I will converse with my advisors, the club, and assess everyone’s decision.
“I also need to engage in a conversation with [Erik] ten Hag; he’s the manager and the discussion should involve all parties. We must observe how the upcoming season unfolds.
“I am eager to contribute; I want to aid the team. We will observe how things progress. However, I have always been and continue to be content at Manchester United.”
