Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given an update on the injuries of key players, Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic, ahead of their upcoming clash with Luton Town on Sunday, November 5.
Thiago Alcantara has not played this season due to a hip injury that required surgery in April. Klopp expects Thiago to return at the start of the New Year, with a realistic timeline of four more weeks. “I can’t wait to have him back,” he said.
Stefan Bajcetic, who made two appearances last month, has been sidelined because his body is not yet ready for full action. Klopp praised Bajcetic’s potential, calling him a “wonderful player.”
In addition to the injury updates, Klopp discussed Liverpool’s attacking options. Mohamed Salah has been a standout performer this season, with 10 goals and four assists in 14 games. Darwin Nunez has contributed seven goals and five assists, Cody Gakpo has four goals and one assist, and Luis Diaz, currently sidelined due to a family emergency, has three goals and one assist. Diogo Jota has scored six goals in 13 games.
Klopp acknowledged that the situation with Luis Diaz, whose father is still missing after a reported kidnapping in Colombia, is beyond their control. Despite the challenges, Klopp remains positive about Liverpool’s prospects, recognizing the competition from other strong teams.
