Manchester United and Inter Milan have reached an agreement for the transfer of Andre Onana, the goalkeeper. The deal is valued at up to €55 million (£47.2 million).
After several days of negotiations, the clubs have settled on an initial fee of €51 million (£43.8 million), with the potential for an additional €4 million (£3.4 million) in add-ons based on the performance of both Onana and the club.
United is optimistic that Onana can join their pre-season tour in the USA, which concludes on July 31, as soon as possible.
Onana has expressed his desire to move to Old Trafford and reunite with his former Ajax manager, Erik ten Hag, who has been instrumental in pushing for the 27-year-old’s transfer.
In addition to the Onana deal, United is also considering the acquisition of Zion Suzuki, a goalkeeper from Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan.
This move comes after David De Gea, United’s current goalkeeper, failed to reach an agreement on a new contract and announced his departure on a free transfer earlier this month.
