Tottenham Hotspur and Wales centre-back Joe Rodon is set to join Leeds United on loan for the 2023-24 season.
The Telegraph report that the two clubs have agreed a deal that would see the defender head to Elland Road. Rodon is expected to undergo a medical in the coming days before the move is officially announced.
Rodon joined Tottenham from Swansea City in 2020 for a fee of £11 million. He made 27 appearances in his first season at the club, but he has struggled to break into the starting lineup in recent seasons.
The 25-year-old is now looking for a new challenge and believes that a loan move to Leeds would be the best way for him to get regular playing time.
Leeds are looking to strengthen their defense after a difficult season in the Premier League last year. They finished 17th, just two points above the relegation zone.
Rodon is a physical and athletic defender who is good in the air. He is also comfortable on the ball and can play out from the back.
He is a good addition to Leeds’ squad and he could help them to improve their defensive record in the coming season.
The loan move is also a good opportunity for Rodon to show Tottenham that he is still a good player and that he deserves a place in their first team.
If he performs well at Leeds, he could force his way back into Antonio Conte’s plans at Tottenham next season.
